Privacy Policy

Polished is a personal AI coaching tool for pageantry, public speaking, networking, and job interviews. The service is operated by Polished App, LLC ("we", "us"). You can reach us at hello@polished-app.com for any privacy question, deletion request, or data export.

• Account info — email address, display name, and authentication credentials managed by our auth provider (Clerk).
• Content you upload — practice videos, wardrobe outfit photos, audio captured with videos, written journal entries, goals, schedule notes, and any text you type in the app.
• AI-generated feedback — scores, written feedback, and suggestions produced by our AI from the content you upload.
• Usage data — basic logs (timestamps, request paths, error traces, IP address, user agent) for security, debugging, and abuse prevention.
• Consent records — the version, timestamp, IP address, and user agent recorded when you accept our consent prompts (kept as a legal/audit trail).

The feedback you see in Polished is generated by an AI model. We currently use Google Gemini to analyze your uploaded videos and photos and produce scores, written feedback, and suggestions.

• When you submit a video or outfit photo, the file (or sampled frames of it) is sent over an encrypted connection to Google's Gemini API for processing.
• AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or biased. Treat it as coaching guidance, not professional judgment.
• We may swap or add AI providers in the future. If we do, we will update this policy and re-prompt you to accept the new terms before continuing.
• We do not use your content to train AI models owned by third parties; usage by Google is governed by Google's API terms in effect at the time of processing.

• Generate AI feedback on the content you submit.
• Operate and secure your account.
• Improve the app, including improving the prompts and models we use.
• Communicate important service changes or beta-program updates.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not show ads.

• Clerk — authentication and identity.
• Google (Gemini AI) — analyzes your uploaded videos and photos to generate feedback. Content is sent to Gemini for processing.
• Replit — hosts our application and database, and provides object storage for uploaded media.
• Postgres database — stores your account data, feedback, and content references.

These providers act as processors on our behalf. We do not share your data with third parties for their own marketing.

We retain your content and feedback for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual sessions, journal entries, and outfits inside the app at any time. For steps to delete your entire account in the app, or to request deletion without signing in, visit our Account Deletion page. Email deletion requests are processed within 30 days.

Polished does not intentionally retain user-scoped application records after account deletion. Service providers may retain independent transaction, security, backup, or processing records under their own legal obligations and retention policies.

Account data, coaching content, analysis results, and references to uploaded media are stored using access-controlled cloud infrastructure. Our service providers may process data in the United States or other countries where they operate. Those countries may have privacy laws that differ from the laws where you live.

Depending on where you live (e.g. California, EEA, UK), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, contact hello@polished-app.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

Polished is intended for use by adults (18+). If you are under 18, you may only use Polished with verifiable consent from a parent or legal guardian. If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child without that consent, we will delete it.

We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access-controlled storage. No system is perfectly secure; only upload content you are comfortable sharing with the service providers described in this policy.

We may update this policy. If we make material changes, we will bump the policy version and re-prompt you to accept the new terms before you can continue using the app.
